Patrick Newton Named New VP of Commercial

Aberdeen, MD, January 4, 2021: Patrick Newton has been named the new VP of Benfield Electric’s Commercial Division.

After 43 years as VP of Commercial, Bruce Pindell is retiring from Benfield Electric Co.

Pat has always been one of our brightest stars and, for the last four years, he has been groomed for this role.  I have no doubt that not only will Pat do an exceptional job heading up the department; but as he puts his own stamp on our commercial division, he will take it to even higher levels,” says Greg Benfield, the President of Benfield Electric.

As incoming VP of Commercial, Newton brings 33 years of Electrical experience in both residential and commercial project installations. He has been a Project Executive for the past 13 years, and a pivotal part of individual projects with electrical contract values in excess of $11M.

Newton has worn many hats during his extensive career at Benfield Electric.  He began as an Electrical Helper in 1987, became an Apprentice, and moved up through the ranks as Crew Leader, Foreman, Estimator, and Project Manager, before becoming Project Executive.

As a Master Electrician since 1995, Newton has worked with Commercial installations including high-rises, healthcare facilities, prisons, and government installations, as well as multi-family and mixed-use facilities.

Master Electricians in Maryland must be employed in the field, and under the supervision of a Master Electrician for seven years before applying, and testing for their Master Electrician’s license. They work with overhead and underground utility construction, install fire alarms, security systems, and lighting controls as well as installation and repair of a variety of voltage distribution systems.
